MUMM: Museum fuer Uhren und
Mechanische Musik
(Wichterheer Museum of Timepieces and mechanical Music)
The Museum is located in the
Wichterheer
Mansion (Image), a former summer residence of a nobelman, in the town of
Oberhofen am Thunersee (Switzerland). Oberhofen
is located about 35 km southeast of Bern, 5 km east of the city of Thun,
or 15 km west of the well known resort of Interlaken. The town is on
the Northern shore of Lake Thun.
Directions:
- From either eastern or western Switzerland take the National Highway N1
to Bern
- At Interchange Bern Wankdorf, take National Highway N6 south,
direction Thun, for about 25 km
- Take Exit Thun-Nord, cross city of Thun, following signs to "Gunten"
- About 8 kn from the Interchange is the village of Oberhofen
- The museum is on your right. on the main highway, just on the far end of
the village center.
- There is ample public parking in a parking garage accross the
street (fee)
