MUMM: Museum fuer Uhren und
Mechanische Musi
(Wichterheer Museum of Timepieces and mechanical Music)
This type of intricate jeweled box was popular in France and Geneva in the
late 19th century. The finy bird is only about 3 cm long and is animated, When
you open the lid the bid sings (mechanical wistle). Made about 1885.
The small object is a stamp to produce a seal, it contains a very small
music box.
